MAKATI CITY, Philippines – Philippine Sinter Corporation (PSC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan’s JFE Steel Corporation (formerly Kawasaki Corporation), recently announced its commitment to improve overall productivity and streamline operations through information technology by collaborating with BayanTrade and SAP via the former’s BT Jumpstart solution. PSC’s sintering plant in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental, is the only facility in the world that is detached from a steel mill complex.
With growing business complexity, synchronizing data from different information sources became a challenge for PSC. With this, PSC plans to implement the BT JumpStart business solution to integrate all their business processes under a single platform, thus, making business operational information accurate and readily-available for well-informed decision-making. “With the information at hand, managers and executives have the tool to be proactive in decision-making and responsive to business challenges,” said Edison Sasoy, IT head.
“We chose to work with BayanTrade and SAP because we believe they have the most appropriate solution for our organization’s needs. Based on SAP Best Practices, BT JumpStart is conveniently pre-configured to meet the manufacturing industry requirements and can be easily managed by our IT team after implementation is completed. BayanTrade met our stringent requirements like business process standards, solution qualifications and support availability. We also considered BayanTrade’s successful track record of implementing business solutions at some of the country’s most respected companies,” Mr. Sasoy added.
In the future, PSC is esteemed in being more competitive amidst challenges faced in the changing times. “PSC plans to remain in the sintering business for a very long time and to be the best in productivity and efficiency in this category. We envision this path ahead to be an exciting time for the company especially with BayanTrade and SAP as our partners,” said Mr. Bien Tolentino, PSC division manager for finance and accounting.
