BayanTrade celebrated its eighth year with a 40% compounded growth rate over the last five years, the acquisition of new subsidiaries, and being profitable for the third consecutive year, in an anniversary bash themed “BayanTrade@8:   Beneath Barriers, Beyond Borders”.

All roads led to the newly-opened Manila Ocean Park as BayanTrade’s customers, partners, and employees converged to take part in the monumental event.   Guests including presidents, executives, and managers from top companies in the country and overseas were treated to an oceanarium tour upon arrival at the venue, for a first-hand experience of the park’s world-class showcase in marine life.   An art exhibit cum finger painting demonstration by Rafael Pacheco and exhibit displays of event sponsors were presented over cocktails while the Rahab Band provided dinner entertainment.

The BT Singing Ambassador set off the evening’s gathering with a rendition of the Philippine National Anthem and hymn while the Mandaluyong Children’s Choir performed a Filipino song, Nais Ko, in the opening number.   BayanTrade President and Chief Executive Officer Dante Briones delivered his remarks by welcoming clients, partners, shareholders, and the BayanTrade family and expressing appreciation for the support and trust they have extended to the company.   He also shared milestones the company has achieved in the past year.

Keynote speaker Dr. Josette T. Biyo lauded BayanTrade for its continued pursuit for excellence.   She also urged everyone to instill the love for learning in order to be better equipped in facing a fast-changing world.

Among the highlights of the event were the launching of BayanTrade Academy and the formal welcome of ABM Computech Enterprises and PT Columbus IT to the BayanTrade Group of Companies.   A ceremonial toast was led by BayanTrade President and CEO Dante Briones after calling the company’s Senior Management Team onstage while seven employees received Service Awards for their loyal service of five and ten years, respectively.

One of the most important segments of the program was the annual turnover of chairmanship of BayanTrade’s Board of Directors.   The symbolic torch of responsibility was passed from outgoing chair, JG Summit President and CEO Lance Gokongwei (represented by JG Summit Holdings Corporate Procurement Head Eddie Yap), to incoming chair, ePLDT President and CEO Ray Espinosa (represented by ePLDT Administration and Materials Management Head Rene Banez).

To lend the festivities with a spirit of charity, A Blue World, a specially-commissioned painting by Mr. Pacheco, was auctioned utilizing BayanTrade’s elite forward auction facilities.   Proceeds of the auction went to the winning bidder’s charity of choice.

The night concluded with a big bang with a mini concert by special guest performer Kitchie Nadal.
